Moving Voice & Text

Saturday March 21, 2020
10:00am - 5:00pm

Hosted By: Shakespeare Theatre Company and The Academy for Classical Acting, 2129 G St NW, Washington, DC

Join Gary Logan, Lisa Beley and Gerry Trentham to explore breath in relationship to vocal and physical action, and techniques to get the most out of dramatic texts. The day will entail Movement and Rhythm, Breath Work for the Actor, and Text Analysis and Integration. Don’t miss this opportunity to work with three of the best master teachers in the industry.

With individualized feedback from three of the finest master teachers in the industry, the training sequence will culminate in performance that integrates new learning and expands the actor's pallet and presence.

Seasoned actors and advanced performance students are invited to renew and revitalize their craft. Directors and playwrights can gain a more profound understanding of the actor’s craft as well as a new organic process for their work. Dancers and movers and performance artists can expect to find a deeper connection to their own bodies through the window of their resonant voices. Students will develop new  tools for their toolbox. Voice and drama teachers will acquire new approaches to enrich their teaching.

Reminder - The studios can vary in temperature so dress in layers. We will be working in bare feet for the most part. Bring your own water bottles and stay hydrated.
