Reclaim Your Voice
Saturday November 23 & Sunday November 24, 2019
9:30am – 5:00 pm
Location: Evergreen Theatre and Community
SPACES

#2 1709 8th Avenue N.E., Calgary

You want to speak. You have something to say. But you don’t. Something stops you.

Our voice is our birthright—as unique to each of us as our fingerprints. It is an inherent part of us, critical to our sense of self. We rely on our voice to connect with others, to be in relationship, to communicate our needs, to express our emotional lives, to create—and to accomplish tasks both great and small. We may lose touch with our authentic voice, however, through societal conditioning, in addition to inhibitions and restrictions resulting from personal experiences.

The great news is—we can reclaim our voices.

But how do we do that? How do we reconnect with our essence, our authenticity? How do we re-integrate what we think, feel and say? How do we give full, fearless voice to the depth, colour and immensity of our inner world, in our private, public and performance lives?

During this two-day workshop, Rae Ellen Bodie
and Dawn McCaugherty will facilitate expansive, dynamic explorations of breath, movement and voice. Through play, investigation and reflection, participants will return to a core sense of self, freedom and possibility, and acquire practice tools with which to bring the authentic voice back into daily life.

This workshop is open to all, performers and non-performers alike.
